alive. Both in summer and in winter (obviously in winter a little less being a holiday destination). <br> If I had to recommend the <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> perfect period <\/span>: between April \/ May to October! Scalea is a seaside resort and as such has the sea as its focus. It is the only way to reach it! By land it is not possible. I highly recommend you do it because, apart from the cave, the beach is beautiful! It is called <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> \u201ca jidital\u201d <\/span> which in Calabrian dialect means thimble, assuming its form. And if you go there in months like June or September, you find it empty, so a real <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> oasis of relaxation <\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Le_grotte_marine_di_Scalea\"><\/span><strong>Scalea sea caves<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">For all the exact names of the places I asked a veteran in the place for help. It is small but Italy we say that in the small barrel there is good wine! Most importantly, go when there is a lot of light! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Grotta_della_pecora\"><\/span><strong>Sheep cave<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">Last but not least the <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> sheep cave <\/span>! This one is very particular because it has two openings. The old city rises assuming a pyramidal shape. Enter the most beautiful <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> caves and coves <\/span> in Calabria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Diamante\"><\/span><strong>Diamante<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">Slightly further away from Scalea (about 20 minutes) you will find <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> Diamante <\/span>, city of murals! Diamante is famous for several reasons: 1\u00b0 the fact that this city also has an island, that of <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> Cirella <\/span>! Also to be circumnavigated by pedal boat or kayak. There is an abyss, however, compared to Dino Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">The Island of Cirella, in fact, has no marine cavities unlike that of Dino which has 3 and huge! The island is still beautiful to circumnavigate due to the crystal clear water along its shores. In addition to this naturalistic motif, Diamante is known for its wonderful waterfront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">It also has a great nightlife that makes it <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> perfect for young people <\/span> on how to spend a different evening. <br> Last but not least last, as already mentioned at the beginning, is famous for its <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> murals <\/span> that you can find around the city! To visit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Maratea\"><\/span><strong>Maratea<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">Instead of going down this time we go up and reach the <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> Basilicata <\/span>! For those who do not know, a strip of land in Basilicata overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea. Along this coast we find the wonderful <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> Maratea <\/span>! <br> It will only take you about 30 minutes to reach it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">In my opinion? Go there, you won't regret it! Maratea is beautiful not only for the sea and its particular beaches but also for the \u201c<span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> Cristo di Maratea <\/span>\u201c. <br> Statue which is located on Monte San Biagio and from which you can have a surreal view! As usual, I recommend you go there at sunset because the effect is literally \"<span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> stunning <\/span>\". The Landscape is the perfect mix between sea and mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">For its beaches, Maratea is famous for one in particular: the <span class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> black beach <\/span>! It is nicknamed for the dark color of the sand. When I have been there (doing my usual kayak tour) at 18:00 the sand was still hot! Being dark it absorbs all the heat of the day and persists for a long time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I hope to return as soon as possible because I don't know the names of several places I've been to.
