Besides time it also takes a lot <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> organization and planning <\/mark> . Below I will list all the expenses and checks to be done and then we will go and see them one by one:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eurotunnel (train that, under the channel, takes us from the United Kingdom to France<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gasoline<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toll<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accomodations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food and beverage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Car check (explaining that you will have to face a journey of over 2000 km). Preferably from your trusted garage team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check documents (passport, passenger locator form, covid test (if still required \/ existing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check car insurance outside the UK<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Car breakdown check in case of problems (option that your insurance can give)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center translation-block\">Driving from uk to italy: how long is the journey?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">This is a million euro \/ \u00a3 question. Let's say it depends a lot <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\">on you <\/mark> and on the availability of the <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> time <\/mark> you have. Obviously also from the final destination. In theory (in my case) it is a journey that can also be done in 3 days. Doing it in 3 days, however, would mean driving an average of 8 hours a day (hopefully). Obviously I speak for myself that as my final destination I had Naples (southern Italy). Let's say that if yours is central Italy, you could save a day. So the final destination also affects. However, just to give you an idea, I was trying to arrive for lunch, settle in the B&amp;B and then enjoy the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Inghilterra_Italia_in_auto_quante_ferie_in_totale_dovreste_prendere\"><\/span><strong>Driving from uk to italy: how many vacations days in total should you take?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">This is a question you should definitely ask yourself. In fact, in the outward journey, you must add the return. In fact, we have just said that 4\/5 days are ideal (always destination permitting). So they would be between 8 and 10 in total, plus: how long do we stay in the place where we arrive? Do you want to know something? I took this trip because I took 2 sabbatical months of my life. I made this decision after the second lockdown in 2021 which saw me stopped in the UK for 1 year and a half. Because of the situation, my managers understood how I felt and allowed me to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Quanti_giorni_di_ferie_prendere_se_non_si_e_in_un_periodo_sabbatico\"><\/span><strong>How many days of vacation to take if you are not on a sabbatical?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">If, like me, you are in a transition or sabbatical, then you can give the answer for yourself. Based on what your availabilities are (financial and timing). Although later I'll show you this <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> travel is not expensive <\/mark> if you organize well. Now: to the 14 days of vacation you have to add 2 days off that every week you are entitled to by law. In a week, therefore, you will have 5 days of vacation and 2 offs, the same thing for the following week. <br> In total, you will have spent 10 days of vacation plus 4 offs for a total of 14. If you add 4 more days of vacation to these , doing a calculation you have 18 available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">In my opinion, 18 days is enough for an on the road. And it is thanks to the Eurotunnel that we will begin our journey. The Eurotunnel journey from UK to France takes place sitting in our car and lasts 35 '. On the way you can go to the bathroom if you need it. As soon as you arrive in France, from the Eurotunnel you immediately take the highway. I personally paid \u00a3 182 (roundtrip). To get to the Eurotunnel you just need <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> select it as destination <\/mark> on maps or google map. Just for the record it is located near a town called <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> Forklstone <\/mark>. From there you get to <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> Calais <\/mark> (France). I tell you about my experience and the cost that I faced with my mini cooper 2005. I spent a total of \u00a3 236 (cost that may change in the future) on petrol which is not a lot. The reason is that for the most part you drive on the highway and as you well know the cars consume less. <br> If I can give you a <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> dispassionate advice <\/mark> always try to fill up halfway through the tank. In England there is only one toll to pay which is called (and if you go through it) <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> dart charge \u201d<\/mark> to be paid online (1.50 \u00a3). You can pay by midnight the following day. In Switzerland tolls do not exist but you have to buy a <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> sticker to apply on the car <\/mark>. <br> With this sticker (<mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> valid for one year <\/mark>) you can cross all of Switzerland. Plus, you don't risk a fine if you get caught up to 400 Swiss francs. So, either you buy it first or you buy it at the first Swiss petrol station. I spent \u00a3 126.94 for tolls (including Italian ones).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Costo_parcheggi\"><\/span><strong>Parking cost<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">We travel by car and therefore we should park it somewhere. The simplest solution is the <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> parking closest to your B&amp;B \/ Hotel <\/mark> (better if they have one). <br> The cost of parking can be by the day or by the hour. In total I spent \u00a3 76 BENEDICT. That of <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> accomodations <\/mark> for me is a cost that it depends on you, therefore variable. The reason is that the choices could be different: hotel, b&amp;b, hostel. I personally chose all b&amp;bs for a total of 4 nights during the trip. I didn't include it precisely because you could eat with 5 euros a day (ridiculously low cost) or 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Check_auto\"><\/span><strong>Car check<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">As I have already mentioned in the index the <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> check of the auto <\/mark> is something to do especially if the car is not new. What I did was explain to my garage what I wanted to do. A journey of <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> over 2000 km by car <\/mark> crossing 3 Nations. <br> For this reason I was advised to do at least <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> 2 checks of the car <\/mark>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">One a couple of months before leaving and the other a couple of weeks before! The car is the vehicle that will take you to your destination and therefore must have absolute priority and everything must be ok! <br> Before leaving, the car mechanic will give you some <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> tips on checks to do while traveling <\/mark>. (Water, oil, take useful things with you).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Check_documenti\"><\/span><strong>Documents check<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">The <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> check of the documents <\/mark> (without forgetting them) is another thing to do with thoroughness. I did my trip with covid in progress and therefore I had to do a whole series of additional checks. <br> Which documents to bring with you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Passenger locator form (if still required \/ existing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Just check the situation of the country you are entering for any eventuality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Check_assicurazione_auto_fuori_dal_Regno_Unito\"><\/span>Check car insurance outside the UK<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center translation-block\">Before leaving the UK by car, do a <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> check car insurance <\/mark>. English insurance should generally cover you for a certain period after you leave. <br> My car insurance (Privilege the name) <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> covered me for up to 90 days <\/mark> once it came out. To find out if your insurance also covers you outside the UK, just contact them. To be sure, get <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> a document certifying that you are away those days <\/mark>. In the end I didn't do it because despite 2005 my car had just 88 thousand miles. <br> But the <mark class=\"has-inline-color has-trawell-acc-color\"> breakdown insurance <\/mark> might be a useful option to add.
