Naples in Italy is a World to discover. Full of charming places, some away from prying eyes. A city to be explored in the round, on every side, land or sea. And it is in this article that I will guide you in the most beautiful kayak tour in Naples. I will show you incredible places, with unspoiled nature. We will go into submerged buildings and small beaches. Small enough to accommodate only one kayak! Marine protected areas and much more. Ready for this tour by sea? Let's go!

Bay of green rocks: starting point for the kayak tour
This one I'm going to tell you about is the classic (short) tour and starts from bay of green rocks. But don't worry, at the end I'll give you the details for the complete tour. I will also give you info on prices, duration, and being able to book the guided tour online. I did the route with my personal inflatable kayak. Strictly purchased on amazon (link here). For all the times that I have used it, I will have saved a lot of money…! It can also be transported on a scooter!

It must also be said that when I explore I invest almost all the day. So I bought my own also to be free from time and money constraints. But no more chatter, let's start the tour so I'll show you all these wonderful places!
I didn't leave from the green rocks bay for one simple reason: it is run by a private villa.
Its name is Villa Fattorusso and being a private place, the only way to start from here is to rent their kayaks. I advise you to start from here especially if you don't have much time. If you have time, the complete tour is right for you but I'll explain it to you at the end. To get to Villa Fattorusso, just look for it on Maps (iphone) or Google Maps. You can also write “baia delle rocce verdi” as your destination point.

Kayak Naples: prices
You can rent them for the average price:
- 10€ for 3h
- 15€ for 6h
- 20€ for all the day
The prices are cheap and I tell you that 2 hours are more than enough to go to Gaiola and back.
Kayak Naples: from bay of green rocks to Gaiola beach
Once organized and ready you can start the tour! When you are almost out of the bay, on the left you will find a small inlet. Stop if you can, it is very small and there is just enough space for a couple of kayaks. Take a refreshing bath and take some photos if you can! The water is crystal clear!
Leaving the bay you will also have the view from the sea of Villa Fattorusso. At Villa Fattorusso you can also rent a sunbed or deck chair to spend the day there. It has a swimming pool and access to the sea! So it would be the perfect combo to spend the day with a Kayak tour! At this link you will find the price list of Villa Fattorusso.

Ghosts building: a kayak tour through corridors submerged by the sea
Unparalleled suggestiveness, an experience I had never had before. The building of the ghosts (so nicknamed) is located exactly between the bay and the Gaiola beach . You find it there, 1/4 submerged by the sea and the rest that rises from it. When I first arrived, I didn't realize that you could go inside. So I approached as usual to have a closer look!
As soon as I realized that it was possible to enter it I didn't hesitate a second!

Only by entering it you will understand why the nickname "building of ghosts". The interior is spectral , and as you go deeper, the light will begin to fade! However, if you turn around and look outwards you will see the sun's rays illuminate the seabed ... Wonderful !!!
Inside you can go from one corridor to another but always paying attention. Always check how high the tide is so that you can move smoothly. Once you have exited, continue in the direction of the first one, then towards the Gaiola beach.

Underwater park of the gaiola: the most beautiful marine protected area in Italy
It takes its name from the two islets joined by a pier and which makes this place enchanting, sometimes fairytale. The Gaiola is a wonderful place and extends from Marechiaro to Bay of Trentaremi .
There must be a reason to be elected as the most beautiful marine area in Italy. But once you get there you will understand.

The park can be reached either by sea or by land. So much so that even here (by reservation) you can go to the adjacent beach.
Once you have circumnavigated the beautiful area of Gaiola you could continue. The next stop would be Bay of Trentaremi, if you can make it, that's okay, without giving up.
Gaiola booking
The reservation (for those who want to access it by land) is made for several reasons. First of all not to make the place hyper crowded and to allow a maximum number of people to access. There are two time slots (morning and afternoon) that you can choose. You can book the descent to the gaiola from here!
Kayak Naples: the long tour
As I already told you at the beginning, I didn't start from green rock bay but much earlier! Also because before arriving at bay of green rocks there are 2 other beautiful places to see by sea!

Full guided tour to Gaiola island
There are 2 more beautiful places to see coast-to-coast. The second premise is that even from here (before green rocks) you can rent kayaks. And now I just have to do one last thing to let you experience something unforgettable. I leave you the link for the online booking of the guided kayak tour.
Can I tell you something? There is nothing more beautiful than someone who tells you stories. And on this tour, there are many to tell about all the places. For me, personally, in Naples it is a MUST to do.
Palazzo Donn’Anna: sea view from the 17th century
It is one of the places I was talking about before very famous here in Naples. Palazzo Donn'Anna is located in via Posillipo and is an iconic palace overlooking the sea. The sea view is just as beautiful and I went kayaking as it is adjacent to Lido Sirena. Recommended.

Posillipo Flowering Shore: Villa Valpolicelli
Another place that you will find on the way paddling at full blast: Riva fiorita. The background of this place is Villa Volpolicelli with its tower. A wonderful place especially because it is very popular in the evening at sunset. Where you can cool off at one of the sea view bars with background music from the sea!

Kayak Naples: conclusions
I hope that the article has been useful to you and that you can take it as a hint. Coast to coast I also tell you that you will come across the beautiful Posillipine villas. They create an enchanting scenery, and some areas reminded me of Positano!
I'll also leave you some links to about Naples that you can read if you like to explore new places.
P.s. don't forget to click here to follow on my instagram page the places I've been.

Hey, i absolutely loved your blog. Im thinking of going there myself, so this was very useful. Can i ask, is it allowed to step out on the Gaiola beach if you are entering from the sea?
Hi Peteris, sorry for the late reply, and thanks for your kind words. Hope you managed to get there. Anyway, the answer is no, you can't get into the Gaiola beach by kayak, there are some supervisors whistling at you if you get in. Hope you had a good time there.
