In Naples there are many things to see. Among these, especially if you stay several days, there are the wonderful night views . I think that 7 are to be framed and hung on the wall of the house. 7 seems like a more than honest number, especially if you are here on vacation and you stay for several days. Or, if you are already from Naples and surroundings, it seems to me a good excuse to spend a weekend in a different way! At the end of the article I will also tell you how to reach the different points. Both with own and public transports! Ready to discover the 7 most beautiful night views in Naples ?! Let's go

Naples night views: 13 descents of Sant Antonio

Do you know what "cult" means? It means popular or fashionable and for this place it is exactly the most suitable expression! Why? Try searching for Naples on google and see what is the main photo that comes out! It is exactly the same as you see above, taken from the point of view of Sant Antonio. I go there often and I was lucky enough to be able to photograph this place at different times. From morning to dawn!

However, if I had to advise you on a specific moment to go there I would say sunset . The reason is because within an hour you can catch two pigeons with one stone (In Italy is a way to say to do 2 things instead then one). Enjoy the sunset as the city lights come on to make room for the night.

When the night comes, the scenario will be completely different. All the lights of the city will be on and you will enjoy a unique view and rare. Going there at night, however, is not as simple as in the evening. In Naples, some services (such as the underground ), at a certain time they stop working. So either rent a car / scooter (if you are on vacation) or go there with your own means if you are from Naples and surroundings. Or, if you're lucky that you're staying nearby, you can walk there.

Alba a Napoli

From 5:30 to 7:30 in the morning (depending on the period) you can admire another great phenomenon: the alba. Admiring the alba from this point conveys yet another type of sensation. Because everything is silent at dawn, there is a large silence around us. The chirping of birds creates the background music. While, in the meantime, the sun begins to rise behind the majestic Vesuvio. A bit like to say good morning!

Naples night views: Catullo Road

Catullo road is a parallel street of Orazio road. This is a famous road that connects Mergellina to Posillipo. You can reach Via Catullo by taking Hotel Paradiso as a reference. In this slightly more narrow street you can admire a very beautiful Naples night view! Unlike the previous place it is a little more external and you can see much more better Vesuvius and Castello del Ovo .

Here too I recommend always to go at sunset. Another important thing: if you go with your own means I recommend the scooter. Parking with the car is quite complicated for the narrow road.

Naples night views: Caracciolo road

Large, pedestrian and lively. Caracciolo Road is one of the most popular places in Naples, also for its proximity to Castello del Ovo . And it is precisely for the presence of the Castle that makes it one of the 7 panoramas not to be missed. Reaching via Caracciolo is very simple and can be done in different ways. Car, scooter, bus, and underground! As usual I do not recommend the car (unless you are many) even if you find paid parking in the area!

Via Caracciolo Naples

At Caracciolo road you can also stop to dine among the many restaurants or pizzerias. The choice is really impressive because they alternate one after the other all the way.

Borgo Marinari: a stone's throw from Caracciolo road

Done 30, do 31! (In Italy we use this expression to do or see something close the thing we are already doing/seeing). Before or after dinner, I suggest you take a stroll in the “ Borgo marinari ” which is located in the near the Castle. A picturesque fishing village where you will find a small port where many boats are moored. Here there are also many bars and restaurants to spend the evening. Very recommended and suggestive!

Naples at night: view from Capodimonte

This time we move from the center and arrive to Capodimonte . Famous for the Bosco and the Palazzo Reale, home to many exhibitions during the year! Capodimonte is also famous for the observatory, which also makes us understand that we are at a higher point! And it is from this point that we will find one of the most suggestive night view . The most recommended period, in my opinion, is autumn / winter and I also explain why.

naples night views

The reason is simply because from Capodimonte you can also see the business center. Also known as " little New York ", it is the beating heart of the Neapolitan business! The classic place full of offices and the classic hours where at 18:30 it's almost all off. So I go back to going there at a time when the sun sets early (5:00 pm), for a better skyline.

Naples at night: view from Marechiaro

One of my favorite places, a little further from the center, in the Posillipo district. Marechiaro is a small fishing village famous all over the world. From April it becomes a place visited by tourists from all over the globe. It is also possible to do boat excursions and reach secret beaches.

Marechiaro Naples

How to get to Marechiaro

It is not easy to achieve. The reason is because it is in a limited traffic zone . This, however, makes it special; just because it is not very crowded. I recommend you go there by scooter (if you have the chance) to the LTZ point. Then continue on foot, or (if the LTZ is not active) you can go all the way down

Marechiaro is a magical place, and even more in the evening / night. It's a very romantic place and if you want to impress your Lady you're in the right place. And don't hesitate to offer an EXPENSIVE dinner in one of the many sea view restaurants and Vesuvius . Se campa ‘na vota sola (which from Neapolitan to Italian means: you only live once).

Naples at night: view from Vico Equense

Are you ready to go out? Ready to go to one of the most beautiful coasts in the world? Well! Because one of the best Naples night views is in Vico Equense. First city that gives rise to the Sorrento Peninsula and which has as its background its majesty: Vesuvius.

Vico Equense

How to get to Vico Equense

Vico Equense can be reached in many ways: car, scooter, train or bus! Here, too, I give you the scooter as a suggestion for several reasons.

  1. The first is that riding a scooter is completely another experience. I don't know how you feel, but when I'm in the car in open places I feel like I'm in a cage. That's why I go there either by scooter or bicycle.
  2. The second is because with the scooter you can stop practically anywhere.
  3. You don't have to pay for parking if you stop for dinner or have a walk!
Vico Equense

Here too, of course, I recommend you go there first (sunset time). Also because once you decide to go to Vico Equense, better to spend the whole day out. At the most post-lunch departure!

Naples at night: view from Monte Molare

I know you are wondering where I shot this incredible photo and what and where is Mount Molare. These are all questions that I asked myself before a friend of mine brought me the first time! And the last sentence I wrote is not written by chance. Because the first time you must have a guide, but let's go in order!

naples night views

High 1444 meters and at the top of which there is the cosmic nothingness! You read that right, nothing! On the top of Mount Molare there are no shops, restaurants or anything like that! To get to the top you will have to walk for an hour between woods and vegetation!

The question you are asking yourself, then, is: how do I get there? Let's say that for this last place maybe the first time is better to go there during the day. Also because if you decide you want to see the viewat night you will have made a choice: sleep on it!

Mount Molare

Dormirci, ed esattamente come stai pensando ora e cioè con: una tenda, un sacco a pelo, sotto le stelle. Bello no? Solo che per arrivare sul Monte Molare non è per niente semplice ed è per questo che farò una cosa!
