Day 1: The Heart of Positano Between Sea and Shopping

Let's be clear: in Positano the choice is simple because there is only one public beach reachable on foot: Spiaggia Grande. To get there, you will have to walk through the famous alleys of the center. If, on the other hand, you are looking for more comfort, there are several private beach clubs ideal for those who want a bit of privacy and a comfortable sunbed.

2 Days in Positano: the secret beaches

Here I reveal a local secret. If you think there is only one free beach, you are wrong. There are others, but they are only accessible by sea. I often rent a kayak from the main beach. Renting it on the spot costs about 10/15 euros per hour, but trust me, it’s worth it.

In a couple of hours, you can circumnavigate the coast. The view of Positano from the sea is impressive: it looks like a colorful pyramid rising from the water. Before you start paddling, stop for a second, breathe, and enjoy the skyline. Oh, a brotherly advice: bring a waterproof phone case, you’ll thank me later!

Aperitif at the Ocean Bar

After a day spent relaxing on the beach or on a boat, I recommend the Ocean Bar. Located on Positano's Spiaggia Grande, it is a magical place as the sun goes down. It’s my favorite spot and I always go there. Great drinks and the possibility to have dinner at the restaurant right in front. Give it a try.

Day 2: Sea or Mountain?

For the second day, I decided to put a choice before you. Positano is beautiful, but the surroundings are breathtaking. Here are two options: one for those with good legs and the other for those who want to immerse themselves in history.

Option A: The Path of the Gods

If you love adventure, you must do the Path of the Gods. It is one of the most famous trekking routes in the world. You walk suspended between sky and sea right above Positano.

• Why do it: The view over Capri and the entire coast is surreal
• The advice: Finish the path by descending the approximately 1700 steps that lead you back to Positano. Your legs will shake a bit, but your heart will be full of joy.

Option B: Amalfi, Atrani and Ravello

If you prefer the villages, take a ferry or bus and head east:

• Amalfi: The ancient Maritime Republic with its majestic Cathedral. Get lost in the alleys; they look like a paper labyrinth

• Atrani: Just a 10-minute walk from Amalfi. It is the smallest municipality in Italy, a little gem wedged into the rock that looks like a nativity scene.
