How to get to Positano from Naples: Train
- Pro: cheapest solution (about 15 euro)
- Contra: Long times (up to 2½ hours). There is a direct line (circumvesuviana) from Naples station to Sorrento. From Sorrento you have to take the bus to Positano. The bus stop for buses going to Positano is right outside the Sorrento train station. If you are hesitant, ask the train staff for information.
- Book your train ticket to Sorrento
How to reach Positano from Naples: Hydrofoil
- Pros: Shorter travel times (maximum 2 hours). It actually depends on where you're staying in Naples. If you're near Molo Beverello, then it's even less than two hours. If you've just arrived at the airport or Naples train station, you'll have to get to the pier first. So the travel times could be a bit longer. The view of the coast from the sea is definitely a pro.
- Cons: Slightly higher price with an average of 20-25 euros per ticket
- Book the hydrofoil to Positano from Naples
How to Reach Positano from Naples: Private Transfer
- Pros: Speed (very short times compared to the first two) and pickup at the airport or central station. Very convenient if you're traveling with heavy luggage.
- Counter: high price but can save you time and physical health
- Book your private transfer to Positano in advance
