This is exactly what I felt for the umpteenth time facing the sea. Before happiness, of freedom . Because the sea is what it does, it makes you feel free and therefore happy, carefree and relaxed . Better than a doctor, in short, right? I want to tell you about this wonderful experience at the extreme tip of Campania: Punta Campanella , a marine protected area .

Punta Campanella: happiness starts from Vico Equense
Punta Campanella is the area that marks the end of the Sorrento coast. But where does it start? It is Vico Equense the first city to start the Sorrento coast! A wonderful city that gives way to what is one of the most beautiful coasts in the world. And between the two areas there are different cities you encounter on your journey. Meta di Sorrento, Sorrento, Massa Lubrense and also their close cities. I mention them especially if you decide to go there by your own and starts from Vico. So you can stop me on the way and believe me, it's worth it!
Punta Campanella hike: the shortest way
I also wrote the article for another reason, to direct you on how to get here. To get to Punta Campanella the paths are different and vary from where you start. I opted for the shortest path also because it is the one where you can stop for a bath just before. Now I'll explain better.
Terms of Massa Lubrense
This is exactly the place to start for what is the shortest route. Termini is nothing more than a fraction of Massa Lubrense. Once you get here it will be very easy to reach the beginning of the path to Punta Campanella. In Termini there is Santa Croce Square where, first of all, you can park and then continue on foot. Second there is a wonderful view of Capri !
So a stop before setting off is due in my opinion. When you get here you can do 2 things : park and walk or continue. The latter option, of course, means if you arrive on your own. If you arrive by public transport you must necessarily continue on foot from Santa Croce Square. If you have your own means, you can go down to the starting point of the path.
I, honestly, recommend it . I also tell you, however, that it depends if you are on a scooter or a car. If you are on a scooter, you can easily find the parking near the path. There are no paid parking spaces, so everything is free.
By car you must be lucky to find a seat further down and so it's up to you! If so, go up and park in Santa Croce Square.
Punta Campanella Beach: the cove with Capri view
As I told you at the beginning, Punta Campanella is an area. So obviously beaches there are. At the point of arrival of path no. Because there is an immense terrace overlooking the sea. Unless you launch from 30 meters high but then I see it hard to climb to come back! So I tell you that if you intend to take a bath, you will find one first. Exactly before starting the road that takes you to Punta Campanella. Instead of continuing along the path, turning on the right, you can reach a cove .
Mitigliano Beach
This cove is called Cala di Mitigliano . The descent, including parking (car or scooter) costs 6 euro in total. The best thing about this place, apart from the presence of very few people, is a nice beach with the view of Capri . I recommend that you bring your rock shoes. Being a cove it is full of stones and rocks and to take a bath you have to be careful where to put your feet.
There is also the possibility of taking some sun beds or deck chairs. Down there you will also find a small bar where you can get something to refresh yourself. If you are not prone to rocks and stones, the city that I recommend where to go to the beach is Sorrento . From Sorrento to Termini is very close, so you can walk in the afternoon towards Punta Campanella.
Punta Campanella: the path at sunset
Prerequisite: start the path slightly earlier. Because it will take 20 minutes to get to the exact point where the terrace with a view is. 20 minutes walk immersed in nature with the view of Capri to keep you company. Obviously, do a weather check (based on the period in which you go) of the time when the sun sets.
Also because going to Punta Campanella and not seeing the sunset is like going to Naples and don't eat pizza. Once you get to the point of arrival, the scenery will be wonderful.
For every minute that passes, the sun becomes more and more red until the moment you pass the best 5 minutes of your life. The 5 minutes where the sun rests on the sea and slowly disappears. I say go take a bath. Creating in the sky those shades that only a sunset can do.
What a peace. How beautiful. It will be better to remain silent for 5 minutes and enjoy this show. Until the last slice of the sun has crossed the horizon line. Another day has passed, another night is about to begin.
Punta Campanella: on the way to come back
Once the sun has gone down, I I advise you not to stay longer than 10-15 minutes . The path, in addition to not being illuminated, must also be done uphill from the outward journey. This means that you will take longer (at least 25 minutes) to walk it
The beautiful, though tiring, thing about the backward path is always the sunset . It is there that he accompanies you to the exit in the best possible way, ready to say goodbye. And as you return to the starting point I guarantee you that you will turn to look at Capri many times. Every second that passes the sky takes on different shades and you can't do without it.

How to get to Punta Campanella by own means
For this option the solution is very simple. Just select Piazza Santa Croce in Termini di Massa Lubrense as your destination. You can use either Maps or Google Maps. As I told you earlier, it is the square to take as a reference.
How to get to Punta Campanella by public transports
Getting to Termini di Massa Lubrense by train is not possible. However, the SITA bus arrives. Buses depart from Sorrento which is one of the reference cities (or Positano). In Sorrento, however, you can get there via circumvesuviana . (Railway line from Naples to Sorrento).
