Wow. A three-letter word meaning wonder and beauty. A kind of beauty that I have never come across in my life until seen this city. Singapore is a destination with many things to see in (at least) 2 days itinerary. To be more precise 2 nights and 3 days.

Do you know why I ended up here? I stopped over on my way to Melbourne (Australia) and staying there for 3 days opened my eyes. To a new culture, to new people, to different ways of living and was amazing.

My first time in Asia was in Singapore and everyone knows: you never forget the first time. Come with me and I'll show you something very special.

Singapore 2 days itinerary: Jewel
The first “jewel” to admire in Singapore it is exactly at Changi Airport. Listen… I have seen many things in my life… many. A waterfall inside an airport, however, was missing from my list.

I'll be honest with you, it's hard to put this place into words… Singapore bewitched me as soon as I landed with this amazing place. I knew that, after seeing “Jewel” , would have been 2 incredible days. The first 2 days of my life in a different continent: Asia.
Once landed, the Jewel is a 5-minute walk inside the airport. There are signposts everywhere and it's on multiple floors, see it from multiple angles.

However, the feeling you get once there will be kind of being in a jungle for the dense vegetation. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants where you can stop for a pit stop.
Singapore 2 days itinerary: Marina Bay
Iconic place in Singapore that must be admired from multiple angles. Famous here is the Marina Bay Sands hotel with its harmonious architecture. Also in Marina Bay you can admire the statue Merlion (lion head and fish body) icon of Singapore.

If you move to the side of the hotel you can admire the skyline of Singapore and its skyscrapers. During the day it is very beautiful but it is in the evening that the magic is triggered. Yes guys, because it is here that every day (2 times a day in the evening) the magic is turned on .
Light show Marina Bay
I say "lights up" because in Marina Bay there is a show of lights and beautiful music that lasts about 20 minutes. The background and skyline of Singapore made it all wonderful and unforgettable. Honest? First time I've seen something like this in my life and I got emotional.
If you are in Singapore I strongly recommend you not to miss it because is a unique experience.
Singapore 2 days itinerary: Gardens by the bay
Another place that stole my heart, something different, never seen, something unique . Gardens by the bay are gardens with these gigantic trees. It looks like we are on another planet for real, or in the future.

Light show gardens by the bay
Here too, as in Marina Bay there is a beautiful show of lights (2 times a day) that lasts about 20 minutes. What can I tell you…I felt like a child, a child in his world, a child who looks and marvels.
Another thing not to be missed and which I can guarantee will be kept in your memories...

One piece of advice I can give is to see both shows on the same evening/night. It is possible because the shows are both at the same time. Between them there is a difference of about 1 hour and 30 minutes so enjoy both. Keep the one in Marina Bay for the last one when night falls completely, trust me.
Singapore 2 days itinerary: little India
One nice thing about Singapore is that approaches so many cultures nonetheless it's an Asian place. Approaches because in the city you will find neighborhoods of different cultures, such as the Indian one.

I've been there and it's very nice, I also had a good experience going to a temple. Here people go to pray and to venerate the various Gods and you get inside barefoot as a sign of respect. The shoes are dirty and therefore impure and imperfect.
What stood out to me so much were the beautiful dresses of some women. Silk clothes with bright and very strong colors, typical of indian culture. Place to see.
Singapore 2 days itinerary: Chinatown
Another neighborhood not to be missed especially for its incredible Buddhist temple. It is definitely the main attraction in the neighborhood and is impossible to miss.

You can go inside and visit it, it's free. Once inside you will find a version of the famous Buddha statue, very charming.
In the temple you find many people in prayer or reading, this also fascinated me. Recommended place.
Singapore 2 days itinerary: Lau pa sat
I have some good, indeed, very good news for you. Are you a lover of Thai, Japanese, Chinese cuisine, and so on? Well, great! Here in Singapore you absolutely cannot miss “Lau pa sat”.

Food market with lots of food stands starting from the Singaporean cuisine and much more. I went there practically every day at least once a day just for a snack.
I really liked this place also for the concept “social” . Yes social, because once ordered at one of these shacks you can sit anywhere. Anywhere and mingle with anyone. Listen to stories, have a laugh with people who you will probably never see again.
Street art in Singapore
Another thing you will be fascinated by. In Singapore you will find, in different corners of the city, many murals. They are uniquely beautiful and represent daily life scenes.

Have fun discovering them while walking through the streets of the city and admiring their oriental style.
Where to stay in Singapore
A question that only you and your wallet can give you an answer. But I can tell you one thing, even the hostels here are very organized and comfortable.
Then I always say that in a city to visit sleeping and where is the last of the problems. Of course, there might be also budget issues. Singapore offers many accommodation options. I recommend a very central hostel where I stayed in Singapore and you can book it on booking.com
Unique places to eat in Singapore
I won't recommend "where" to eat, because I ate here and there randomly while walking around the city. But I suggest eating local. Lau pa sat, for example, is the perfect place to find a mix of food cultures.
Another tip I can give you is eating local in little India and Chinatown. Find many places to stop and have new culinary experiences.
How to get from Singapore airport to the city
From Changi airport to the city center it is very easy to get there and you have 3 options:
- Metro: (30 minutes) at a cost (more or less) of 1.5 euros
- Bus: (1 hour) at a cost (more or less) of 1.5 euros
- Private transport from Changi to the city center (link attached): in my opinion the best option if it's at least 2 of you. No stress after a long flight (especially having luggage) and you can split expenses. I shared the expenses with a girl I met on the plane because she had to go downtown like me.
Conclusions
Singapore…what surprising city: innovative, traditional , green, futuristic and multicultural. An incredible discovery for my eyes, my camera, and my palate.
I will hardly forget these 3 days, Singapore was my first Asian stop. It has given me so much and I am happy to share my sensations and experiences with you readers.
