Positano in May: perfect temperature
I can guarantee you that being on the coast with the heat of July and August is not very pleasant. So this is the first reason why I love Positano in May. Mild temperatures, with pleasant sunshine during the day (but not scorching) and cool in the evening. Perfect in my opinion.
Low turnout
One of the "problems" of the coast and some towns like Positano is that they are small. To avoid high tourist flows, May is an excellent choice. Even better if you visit during the week. Day tourism fades in the late afternoon, making Positano perfect. By staying overnight, you will understand the difference between experiencing Positano by day and by night. Positano in May: lower prices
Take this "lower prices" with a pinch of salt. Positano is expensive. May prices are still more affordable compared to other months. The alternative would be staying in Sorrento (cheaper), but you wouldn't experience the magic of Positano at night. Let's say this decision should be made based on your budget. P.S. if it's for a special occasion, I recommend Positano, it's just something else!

The airport I recommend landing at is Naples Capodichino. If you are organizing a trip of several days, Naples is a city to put on your bucket list.

- Naples - Sorrento by train and then Sorrento - Positano by bus
- Private transfer from the airport or central station
I recommend a private transfer, especially if you have heavy suitcases and are tired after a long journey.
