Agropoli beaches: San Marco seafront

The San Marco seafront is the longest beach in Agropoli, as well as the fulcrum of the beach life . Here free beaches alternate with private beaches, where you will find all kinds of services.
Several beaches also offer catering with the possibility of having a lunch during all the day.

San Marco beach Agropoli

Let's say that San Marco is not renowned for its beauty but I have to argue in favor of it.
The sunset from this beach is among the most spectacular because it falls into the water. So at least once, spend the day or at least an afternoon there.

Agropoli beaches: Licina

The so-called Agropolesi beach , secluded and reachable by a short path. Path made of steps that lead you to a small quiet beach.
It is easily accessible because it is located in a small street in the center. At the end of the article I am attaching the map.

Elephant sea cave beach

Things are starting to get more interesting folks because now I'm taking you to a nice place. Premise: do you like kayaking ? If the answer is no, you cannot see this beach and its attached elephant-shaped cave. If so, well enjoy what nature can do.
The elephant cave beach is famous precisely for the cave. Indeed, let's say that the cave is more so and during the exploration you can stop here. It is small, but perfect for placing kayaks (or sup) to stop for a swim.
The beach and cave are at the end of the Agropoli promontory, so we are in the center.

Kayak tour in Agropoli

I take this opportunity to point out a kayaking association on the port beach. From here you can rent kayaks (low prices) and enjoy the surrounding area. At the end of the article, I will address you to a more detailed article.

San Francesco's beach

We go out just outside the center of Agropoli, precisely we are behind the port. Immediately after crossing the port, in fact, you will find the famous San Francesco's beach.
To get here you have 2 options:

  • Kayak (from the beach of the port)
  • Path (that starts from San Francesco's Church)
Beach-of-San-Francesco-Agropoli

The path, via steps, takes you to this completely isolated beach. Together with the Licina, it is further away from everyday chaos.
The beach of San Francesco is also famous for the rock of San Francesco . For Francesco we mean St. Francesco d'Assisi who passed on a pilgrimage here to Agropoli.

Curiosity

It was a devotee who dedicated a cross on the rock to him and according to legend, the sea never overlooks him. As a sign of respect and eternal prayer towards him, even in strong storms.

Trentova bay

The highlight of Agropoli: the Trentova bay which attracts people from everywhere. This bay is located outside Agropoli city and to reach it it takes about 7/8 minutes by car.
Here too you will find a succession of free beaches with 2 private beaches. The bay is very wild and surrounded by greenery.

Trentova bay

Also famous here is the rock of Trentova which is located at the far right.
Definitely to be visited avoiding (in my opinion ) very busy periods (such as week ends or August). The only flaw of this place is that it is not very large. If you decide to opt for the free beach, you may find yourself "un nguoll a nat". Where I come from it means "massed to each others ".

If you have the chance, when you are in Agropoli, have a relaxing 4-hour boat tour of Cilento. A beautiful coast-to-coast (from Agropoli) of the places I mentioned (and not only). I leave you the link to book the boat tour of the Cilento coast.
