3 days itinerary in Sydney? Sydney is the most visited city in Australia and is architecturally speaking the most beautiful. Its bridge, which stands out near the central area, connects the 2 macro areas of the city. From both sides, you can admire the incredible beauty of this city.
So many things to do in this city that alternates experiences of all kinds . I made different and interesting ones, approaching something completely new. Something that made me understand why Australia is so special .

Sydney itinerary 3 days: Opera House
Sydney's most emblematic architectural structure that you surely have seen on the web. Opera House stands out there, by the sea, creating a harmonious urban scenario. When you get close to it it's even bigger than when you see it from afar. The structure is enormous and of a very particular design.
What is Opera House?
Opera House is a theater and I found out exactly once there, after asking one of the attendants. You can visit inside but since I'm not a fan of theaters I didn't. However, the fact remains that at least a close visit should be made.
Also because, if you want to take some pictures, it is definitely the spot not to be missed. Near the Opera House there is another place that must be seen: Royal Botanic Gardens.
Sydney itinerary 3 days: Royal Botanic Garden
Next to Opera House are the royal gardens dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II. Perfect for a beautiful walk and where inside you will find cafes and restaurants.
In these gardens I found a nice spot to stop for a drink and more.
Here you can take some nice photos. I can't tell you the precise name of this cafe but it is located along the side of the sea. At sunset it's a show because you have vision of the bridge and Opera House. This is another reason why in my opinion you have to visit them, for the beautiful view.
Sydney itinerary 3 days: Sea Life
Let's start from an assumption that I may have missed: Sydney is perfect also for families. Indeed, if you bring the children there they will be the first to have fun.
Sea life is a perfect place for them, where you can admire many animal species.
Marine animal species that are not found elsewhere because the majority are local. Or certainly areas near Australia and which still make this experience unique. Recommended, especially if you are with the family and want a different day.
Sydney itinerary 3 days: wild life zoo
The same goes for the city center zoo where there is special care for the animals inside. Many of them are animals found in precarious conditions and brought there to be treated. For this reason, I liked it so much, besides the fact that I finally saw the kangaroos.
Sooner or later I will see them in the wild, in their habitat but here at the zoo they recreate a very natural scene. Again, if you go there with children they will have a lot of fun and they will be able to take lots of pictures too.
You can also find the very famous koala, they are in a similar-natural section.
If you hope to find them awake forget it. Koalas are very lazy animals who like sleep most of the time.
Sydney itinerary 3 days: Queen Victoria building
If you love shopping malls (even if you don't) you should go there. Queen Victoria building is a design shopping mall very nice and well-kept. Its style is of type neo-romanesque and that's why it's worth a visit. It was dedicated to Queen Victoria to celebrate her 60th anniversary . Inside you will find 3 floors of shops of all kinds, from retail to food and beverage.
Sydney itinerary 3 days: Tower Eye
The tallest skyscraper in Sydney from which you can have a great view of the city. Sydney from 268m and the light show of the city center at sunset that will make you fall in love even more. The skyscraper also has several floors with restaurants and shops.
The last one, where it is possible to go to admire the view, has only a small café. While it gets dark, take the opportunity to buy something and spend some time up there. From above it's really possible to see Sydney at 360 degrees and appreciate its beauty.
Sydney itinerary 3 days: view from harbour bridge
Did you know that Sydney Bridge can be crossed on foot? Now you know. This huge iron bridge that divides the city in two can be crossed on foot or by bike. Pay attention that only one side can be crossed on foot .
So when you are there pay attention to the signs. Crossing the bridge on foot is a great experience to have. It will also allow you to have a breathtaking view of Sydney and Opera with the background of the skyscrapers. In addition to the beautiful view of Sydney, crossing the bridge will take you to the other side.
Once you get to the other side, get ready to sit comfortably. Sit down on one of the benches that you find along the waterfront to admire the skyline of Sydney.
Indeed, I take the opportunity to mention a place where to stop 100% to take beautiful photos.
City view from Milsons
Once you cross the bridge and walk along the coast, you will find this magical spot. The lookout point is called Milsons and from here you will have the perfect skyline of Sydney. As I have already told you before, if you get yourself something to drink to take away, the landscape will do the rest.
A place to stop especially if, like me, you love landscape photography. Here I took many beautiful photos both panoramic and facing more towards the bridge.
City view from Beulah St Wharf
Slightly more secluded you find this pier from which you have a more central view. Enjoy taking some nice photos here too (especially if you have a camera). Near this pier, you will also find many benches where you can sit. Admire the scenery and enjoy Sydney.
Sydney itinerary 3 days: whale watching tour
Wow. This was a sensational experience . How wonderful is nature? A lot, too much. For the first time in my life I saw whales in full nature and in groups. Yes, because whales move in groups.
The tour can vary from 2 to 4 hours (with obviously different costs). The more time you spend sailing, the more chance you have of spotting whales. I did the one of 2 and we came across a group of whales which we then started following.
It was also wonderful because, at a certain point, the whales started following us. They approached us and it was an unforgettable experience. Being able to observe them closely as they vent or as they flap their tails is suggestive. An experience that I highly recommend to do ( especially if you are with children). I was thrilled to take this tour in front of the beautiful nature.

Sydney itinerary 3 days: Bondi beach
Bondi beach is not the only beach in Sydney but it is certainly the most famous (in Australia). Big, beautiful and famous for surf from morning to late. Bondi Beach is an attraction (especially if you visit it in the summer) not to be missed.
Indeed, a day of your stay in Sydney you could go to the beach. (if you are in the right period). Sydney is not only renowned for its surfing but many others water sports. There are other beaches in and around Sydney but getting around is complicated (unless you have a car). I'll mention them to you anyway if you have time to visit them.

Hostels Sydney
I feel to recommend a very organized and central hostel where I stayed. The Sydney Harbor YHA is located in the heart of the city, very close to the port and Opera. It has a terrace with a beautiful view of Sydney Harbor and lots of services:
- I counted at least 4 cooking areas (with stoves and everything you need to prepare a meal). It is difficult to find organized kitchens in hostels and in Australia they are many years ahead. One of the reasons is that they welcome many "backpackers" from all over the world who travel
- Washers and dryers
- Common area (where the kitchens are) where you can relax
- Recreation area (where there are games and where you can socialize with others)
- Terrace overlooking Sydney Harbor with views of the Opera House
- Possibility to choose “also” a private room, especially if you are with your family
- Mixed dorms from 4 beds

My trip to Sydney comes to an end, I hope this article has been useful for you. I highly recommend you (if you are traveling to or living in Australia) to visit this city.
