Where is Bellinzona?
Bellinzona is located in Switzerland, near Lugano, and is part of the Canton Ticino. For those who don't know, Canton Ticino is the Italian-speaking area of Switzerland. So it's perfect for those who live in northern Italy and want to take a trip to Switzerland.

Its history begins around 5000 BC with the first Neolithic settlements. Along with Montebello and Sasso Corbaro, it is one of UNESCO World Heritage castles in Bellinzona. It features a beautiful wall and two towers just before reaching it. The view of the wall (both from the city and the mountains) is breathtaking.

Also known as “Castello di Mezzo,” it is located higher up than Castel Grande. Today, it houses the civic museum, and with it the archaeological discoveries unearthed there. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view, especially of Castel Grande.

A typical Sforza fortress, it takes its name from the dark color of the rock on which it stands. Built by order of Ludovico il Moro, it initially served as a defense. It later became a residential building and today hosts temporary exhibitions.
