Mamma mia, what a place! Sirmione is a real gem on the Lake Garda which is easily reached from Verona and Milan within an hour by bus or train. And it was during my trip to Verona that I decided to take a trip out of town to Sirmione. Never was a better choice and I can't wait to show you this picturesque place with my photos. Things to do in Sirmione: Drawbridge
It's the first attraction you'll admire even before arriving inside the village. Yes, because to enter Sirmione you have to cross a beautiful brick and stone bridge. It's also one of the prettiest photo spots, so take advantage of it.
Things to do in Sirmione: Scaliger Castle
Once you cross the bridge and enter the village, the Scaliger Castle is on your right. I had to stop for several minutes to admire its beauty and uniqueness. Sometimes, you're truly astonished by such wonders. The Scaliger Castle, along with its walls, is literally in the water. You can walk along it until you reach a small beach. There's also the option of visiting the inside if you're interested in a more in-depth tour.
Walk of the Muses
As you continue exploring Sirmione, you'll come across numerous signs. Among them, one will read: panoramic walk, and it will be the one leading to the Muse. A stretch of seafront promenade that leads to one of Sirmione's most popular beaches.
Lido delle Bionde
Lido delle bionde è una delle bellissime e gettonate spiagge di Sirmione in estate. La troverete ad un certo punto, mentre camminate lungo la passeggiata delle muse. Le sue acque cristalline hanno sbalordito onestamente anche me. Non avevo la più pallida idea che l’acqua di un lago potesse essere così chiara e trasparente. Se vi trovate a Sirmione nel periodo estivo mettete in valigia un bel costume da bagno.
Jamaica Beach
The most beautiful and wild beach on this strip of land that crosses Lake Garda. Now I understand why they call it Jamaica; looking at it, it really does feel like paradise. Its composition is mainly rocky, which also makes it perfect for snorkeling. A spot absolutely not to be missed.
Grottoes of Catullus
The remains of this Roman villa make the Grottoes of Catullus a unique attraction. They are certainly among the most fascinating due to their location. Tickets to visit the caves can be purchased in Sirmione. There is a ticket office right before the entrance.
Things to do in Sirmione: San Pietro's Church in Mavino
It is located on a hill (that of Mavino) that takes its name. The church is also located a few steps from the historic center and is a true gem. A beautiful courtyard precedes the entrance, and inside there are some very beautiful frescoes.
Things to do in Sirmione: Thermal waters
During the day, there will be a moment where you'll pass through the historic center. Just before it begins, you can pop into the thermal baths (even if it's just for a look, for free). Shall I tell you the truth? Looking at the thermal infinity pool, I wondered why I hadn't brought my swimsuit with me. Sirmione thermal baths are beautiful. Think of spending a few relaxing hours here.

You'll cross it before leaving the village with its charming little shops. You can also stop at one of the bars or restaurants after a long day for a break. I can assure you, as a landscape photographer, the view is unparalleled. Plus, you can catch a beautiful sunset if you're there at the right time.
