Relaxation and pleasure that you can have from one of the many spas in the city and with an experience from the Roman Empire . Natural hot springs and Georgian buildings will make you fall in love with this English pretty city.
It's very nice to visit and take even a short time. This is why I suggest you to add a spa experience to what to do in Bath for a day.

What to do in Bath for a day: Pulteney bridge
As soon as you arrive in Bath it is one of the first spots you will come across. This bridge is located close to the Avon river giving life to a frame spot!
Just before this spot you will find a small park with paid entrance (about £ 2).
From this park you can have a very nice frontal view of the bridge! In addition, inside the park, you will find the first Roman-influenced architecture!
What to do in Bath for a day: Roman baths
As we mentioned earlier, Bath is famous for its spas , in particular the visit of them. Here in fact you will find a site of Roman baths built at the time of the Emperor Vespasian . We are talking about 75 A.C. in the city then called Aquae Sulis.
Before arriving you will come across the fascinating Georgian architectural style of the buildings.
To this will be added the Roman one that will make you feel a little in Italy (in Rome) taking a dip in the past.
The cost of the visit of the spa is 20 £ . Honestly, I missed this one because I spent the money in another way.
What to do in Bath for a day: Royal Crescent
Another very nice place to visit in Bath is Royal Crescent . It is nothing more than a block of houses (30 to be precise) in a row in the shape of a crescent. Said like this, it could raise as a question: who cares?
Close up, however, it makes its effect (always architecturally talking!). Also, here is a huge green space with many benches if you want to make a pit stop. As a lover of urban photography, I couldn't lose the opportunity to grasp its geometries.
What to do in Bath for a day: thermal spa experience
I insert it and I suggest as what to do if you come one day. The reasons are different and I list them below:
- If you go to Bath to visit it means it's your day off. If it's your day off the spa is a cure-all .
- The spa tour lasts 2 hours (enough to relax) and does not limit you during the day to do anything else.
- The price (in my opinion) is not excessive!
- Since I have been I can tell you that the experience is unique and particular

2 hours spa tour
Once in the facility and once paid (during the week 38 £) you will be given:
- Flip flops
- Towel and bathrobe
- Locker for clothing and personal effects.
The facility is 3 floors
- On the 3rd floor you will find the roof swimming pool with a view of the Bath skyline in the middle of the English hills. I liked it so much
- On the 2nd you will find steam rooms and sauna . They impressed me a lot, for the scents and aromas they had! Outside each of them, you will find the description of the aroma you find inside. Perfumes and aromas are the same used by the Romans!
- Downstairs you will find the large indoor swimming pool with hydromassage areas on the sides.
For the way the path is structured, it was worth it for me. I loved the historical / cultural information factor that differentiated each service! Iper recommended!
Hunting for sunsets
For this, you need to have one basic requirement: to be lucky!
As you well know, sunsets are not on the agenda in England.
When I visited Bath I was lucky because it was the perfect day. Perfect for taking the photo below and that makes a sunset something that is always worth staying for.
Tour to Stonehenge and Bath from London
I also recommend a day tour of Bath from London that also includes a stop at Stonehenge. The tour includes bus transport and lasts a full day combining the 2 attractions.
How to get to Bath by train
Getting to Bath by train is possible (link attached for timetables and prices) . Bath Spa is the name of the station which is in the city center. So once you arrive, it will be very easy for you to move to the places of interest. Check the latest departures to avoid the risk of spending the night there!
Bath car parkings
If your alternative is a car (comfortable / cheap), you will find dozens of parking lots in the center. I personally paid £ 13 for 8 hours (and I was alone). In company, splitting the costs (including gasoline), the trip will cost you very little!
Where to stay in Bath
If you decide to go to Bath by car you could stay one night and return the next day. Bath deserves a full day's relaxation.
