Free Scalea beaches: Ajnella
A beautiful beach that is characterised by a conformation of rocks on the water. The Ajnella beach is located at the beginning of Scalea and is very special. The beach is close to this cliff, which gives it a very 'wild' feel. The presence of rocks sticking out of the water partly block the waves. This makes the sea always calm and with water super-crystalline.
Free Scalea beaches: Jiditala
Translated into Italian, jiditala corresponds to thimble, which is the shape it takes. This beach in Scalea is a real natural oasis. To reach this beach you have only one way: by sea. So, the advice I give you is renting kayaks or pedal boats. Of the two, however, I recommend kayaking because of the large number of caves to explore.

One of the ways you can reach the beach is through a cave. The cave is called 'tras e jesc' which means you enter (one side) and exit (the other). The side where you exit is right where the beach is. Very suggestive and fun.
Sea caves Scalea
From the cliffs, taking a ride in a pedal boat or kayak, you can come across some caves. Among my favourites are:
- Cave tras e jesc
- Green cave
- Cave of the Kiss
- Sheep cave
Free Scalea beaches: the riviera
The first two I mentioned are the most special and beautiful (in my opinion). Besides the fact that, as already mentioned, you can go on excursions by kayak or pedalo. Then there are continuous free beaches along the coast which alternate with private beaches. So if you go to Scalea, if you want something different, I recommend the first two.

What to see near Scalea
The beauty of Riviera dei cedri is the variety of places you can visit. Besides the beaches of Scalea, you can visit other enchanting places and I recommend them:
- Arcomagno beach (10 minutes from Scalea by car)
- San Nicola Arcella beach (10 minutes from Scalea by car)
- Punta Fiuzzi beach in Praia a Mare (15 minutes from Scalea by car)
Arco Magno beach
An incredible place which must be visited if you are in Riviera dei cedri. The Arco Magno is in my top three favourite places. An enchanting place that can be reached via a spectacular path. The visit to Arco Magno (due to tight spaces) lasts only 30 minutes. Take the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of this place.
San Nicola Arcella beach
San Nicola Arcella is the village where the Arco Magno beach is located. Of course, there are also other beaches in San Nicola and I recommend that you visit them for their beauty. The crystal-clear water of its beaches will make you fall in love with this place.

Punta Fiuzzi Beach
After seeing the photo I know what you will think: it's a framework. Indeed, this beach in Praia a Mare is truly spectacular. In addition to the fact that it is located in front of the Dino's island, attraction of Praia a Mare. The beach has this particular sand tongue which makes it unique. From here you can also (by renting a pedal boat or kayak) take a tour around the island. Its breathtaking caves will leave you speechless .
