We are located between Oxfordshire and Buckingamshire, Brill precisely, in England. For many of you who read my blog you know that the sunsets are my weaknesses . And in this place, ladies and gentlemen, you can admire the most magical view in the area.
The peculiarity of this place and the sunset are given by the presence of this mill . The origins date back to 1680 with subsequent renovations. Why go there? I will show it to you in the following photos and also tell you how to get there.
Brill windmill: check the weather before you go
This is something I want to tell you before you go! The added value of this place is definitely the sunset, why? We are in one of the highest hilly areas, from here the sunset looks like a fairy tale!
So, before you go, make sure the day is crisp and sunny .

Once this is done, check also what time is the sunset and (my advice) go there a hour before .
Here, too, the reason is very simple: take a nice walk in the area. The city of Brill is very small (just over 1000 inhabitants) and you will find 2 pubs where you can get something. One is exactly where the mill is and the other in the center, it's called “ The Pointer ”.
Appointment at sunset time
Once you've grabbed something (even
takeaway) and walked around, you can make your way back to the mill. Near the mill you will find several benches, take a seat and enjoy the show. I have to be honest, I come from a seaside town and I love the sunset by the sea but then I realize something.
The sunset is and will always remain that phenomenon that leaves us stunned, wherever we are.

On a hill, a mountain, by the sea or from the window of your house!
The sunset is something special, spiritual , which makes us, for a few moments, "free". Free to breathe , dream, detach from reality until that last slice of sun disappears… and leaves us there, still for a few seconds, a bit like when the priest in the church tells us: Mass is over, go in peace.
Brill windmill: how to get there
By car or scooter
The most comfortable and above all the only one with a motorized means of transport! There are currently no buses arriving here unfortunately.
By bike
By bike it can be an alternative but only if you live within about 30 minutes of Brill. The reason is that once the sun goes down it starts to get dark.
It took, from Bicester (city of Oxfordshire), 30 minutes by bike.

When I returned home, once the sun went down, there was still some light. So the advice is: a range of 25-30 minutes from the mill by bike! Be sure the bike has front and rear lights for safety!
Conclusions
Ending point Ladies and Gentlemen, as always. I conclude this article wishing you to see as many sunsets as you can in your life. I hope you liked the article and above all it can be helpful to you. To the next destination folks, and remember: who travels lives twice ...!
