Brisbane, beautiful city in Queensland also known as BrisVegas by locals. I stopped here for a couple of days during my Australian trip and then visit Noosa. In the article I will tell you what to see in Brisbane in a day by staying in the city centre and moving around on foot or by scooter. 1 day in Brisbane: story bridge
Brisbane is crossed by its river, which characterises the city with its bridges. Story bridge is one of them and is also the one with the most beautiful view, from the bridge you can get a view of the city. The bridge can be crossed on foot (day and night) making it a top attraction. I stayed in a hostel nearby (I leave the link at the end of the article).
1 day in Brisbane: riverside
Walking on the riverside is one of the best activities to do in Brisbane in a day. The reason is simple: you can have a great overlooking of the city. Strolling along the riverside you can also encounter some of Brisbane's top spots. Below is a list of what you can't miss while walking or riding a scooter.
Brisbane's Southbank Beach
An oasis in the city. The beach in Brisbane is one of the top attractions for locals and is located on the riverside. If I'm honest and truthful I would have gone for a swim but unfortunately I didn't have much time. If you stay several days in Brisbane make sure you have your swimming costume on and go there because it is very beautiful.

You can't miss the iconic Brisbane sign if you walk on the riverside. A ritual photo here is a must with its skyscrapers in the background.
1 day in Brisbane: sunset from Kangaroo point
One of Brisbane's iconic places where seeing a beautiful sunset. I recommend going to this point (which is always on the riverside) at sunset time. The sun, from this point, sets behind the skyscrapers creating an impressive scenery. After sunset, you can see the lights of the city light up and enjoy another beautiful scenery.
1 day in Brisbane: the view from story bridge at night
As I said at the beginning, the view from the story bridge is beautiful both during the day and in the evening. If you have a chance, cross it in the evening as well to get a different view from this spot. If I have to be honest, I had a lot of fun here taking lots of nice pictures with my camera.

Where to stay in Brisbane
If you're going to be in Brisbane just for one day (or even 2-3) I strongly recommend staying in the city centre. This will allow you to get around the city more easily. I leave below the link to the hostel I stayed in, which is a stone's throw from the story bridge:

Places to visit near Brisbane: Noosa
Noosa is a beautiful and well-known seaside city north of Brisbane (about 2 hours). Getting there is very easy (even if you don't have your transport, I went by bus). Noosa is famous for many things and among them is the surf. I was mesmerised to see all those people floating in the waves. Surfing (just looking at it) gives you a feeling of lightness and serenity. Trying it out is something incredible that I have experienced first-hand.

Starting with lesson with an instructor will certainly help you learn the basics of surfing. A super fun activity but also requires a lot of physical energies. Best to rely on experienced hands to start taking your first steps. I leave you the link where to book a surf lesson in noosa for 2 hours.
Noosa kayaking with dolphins
Noosa is also famous for the presence of dolphins, which is why there are kayak tours to spot them. The tour is not only and exclusively about that. In fact, during the tour you will come across stingrays, turtles, giant lizards and sharks. Yes sharks. On top of all that, to get to the kayaking spot you do a stretch of beach by car/van. Where to stay in Noosa
In Noosa, I found a beautiful place to stay. A hostel but that as hostel has only the name. It is called Bounce and it is spectacular! Beautiful and clean rooms, kitchens the same. Swimming pool with bar and (free) transport service to the beach. I fell in love with this place and all the staff. How to get to Noosa
If you do not have your own transport, the best way to reach Noosa is by bus. I leave you the Brisbane - Noosa ticket link (tickets sell out easily).
